Land Environment and Development Concerns (LEDEC)
Land Environment and Development Concerns (LEDEC) is an indigenous, membership, not-for-profit and registered Community Based Organization at Jinja Municipal Council (JMC/2013/042), Jinja District Local Government (JJA/09/2016/00625) and incorporated by Uganda Registration Bureau (URSB) Kampala as a Company Limited by Guarantee (80020000354601) respectively. It was founded in March 2013 by land activists, environmentalists, educationists, conservationist, social workers, human rights activists and development experts in the Republic of Uganda, E. Africa. We are at the forefront in addressing climate change, natural resources depletion and extinction of indigenous species, land and environmental degradation, poor Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), shelter, food insecurity, waste management and energy. We also handle the poor quality of education, health and social services, social injustice, disaster and lack of social accountability which are affecting nature, plants, animals, birds and human life.
MISSION: To achieve sustainable development through; climate change adaptation and mitigation mechanisms, natural resources conservation, livelihood, social services interventions and human rights protection.
